To celebrate the new year, I’ve brought back the possibility to download the
complete discography in a single zip file. Also did some tidying work inside it,
all the id3 tags are now unified and the mp3 files are embedded with
cover artwork (much requested).

We’ll see about the bandwidth usage from now on,
considering whether it’s there to stay.

If you like the works, share them with your friends. =)

some of you might remember the track “Sisumies” I did with Mosaik for my Suunta release around two years ago. Now it’s time to return the favour to him and put together a new collaboration track, titled “Nanomies” (see the pattern, well perhaps they’re distant cousins..) for his new EP “Leandi”.

I would recommend you to download the complete EP thou, as if you are into my music the chances are pretty high that you are going to love this EP. It’s super melodic, atmospheric, cute and you’re left wanting for more.

The festival is split into four separate events, organized in four cities,
and the final part is yet to come next weekend. The evening in
La Chaux-de-Fonds was nicely organized, have to appreciate (and
wonder) the Swiss precision on the scheduling, it’s not often you’ll
going to hear 11 live artists and everything’s still running on time
before the last performer.. And I was honored to be the only
non-Swiss artist playing there.

The recording is not going to be released via netlabel, as it’s
quite short in duration, only about half of the “usual” set..
And to be honest, the set in overall hasn’t evolved that much
since the last released recording from ‘07.

So I’ll just have the recording available via my website for now.
But there’s new stuff in it, along with the old familiars “Fill me up”
and “Fall”. Even thou this year has not been the most creative one,
I’m afraid there won’t be any “real” release from me in 2009.
But I hope you’ll still enjoy the recording:

You may notice the absence of “one click discography zip”. At first it seemed like a nice idea to offer such easy and convenient way for people to download the entire back catalog. But now, some time later.. it may actually have been a bit too easy, as hosting the archive download has consumed enormous amount of bandwidth every month, but still.. not too many people have bothered leaving even the smallest feedback afterwards. It’s like the package have less value to the listener when it’s only one click away? Ofcourse it could be that people have just trashed the folder after downloading, who knows.. but whatever the reason, it’s a bit frustrating.

You still have the chance to get the full discography archive. All you’d have to do, is to contact me personally, and tell me two simple things:
1) Where did you first hear of Planet Boelex?
2) What is your favourite PB track (or release)?

And I shall get back to you with a download link, that should be fair no? :)

“Little World” – remastered edition

First of all, I’d like to thank everyone that have sent feedback regarding “Little World”,
it has been really nice to read all of it, and we both appreciate that very much!

It’s been a good while, since we released “Little World” with Lisa’s antenna.
After time passed, when I was further listening to it, I noticed it didn’t sound quite like
it could have been. Fellow musicians might know the feeling, when you’ve been working
intensively on a new release, for a long period of time.. and when the release is
becoming closer to the finished form, by that time you have heard everything already
thousand times. And you have the feeling that it’d be really nice to let go of it and share
the results to the world. You might have become a bit too familiar and too close with
the pieces, so may not notice all the little things that would still need your attention.

But like they say.. better late than never. So.. now it’s time to present the
improved version, it might be too early for any “anniversary edition”.
This new edition have some parts re-worked, I have been
carefully adjusting the mixes and other small bits. The new mixes are slightly
darker in tone, removing the overly bright (and occasionally harsh sounding)
higher frequencies. I have taken care especially of processing the vocals
so they’d sound more natural and pleasing (or rather, removing the processing
that made them sound unnatural in the first place). And some of you might be
pleased with the fact that there’s more bass now.

Finally, the last touches were done in professional mastering by Christopher Leary.

In short, the new edition has the same old songs (sorry – no bonus), they have
been refurbished, but I think you’ll agree, that they do sound more pleasant!

And then a short news bit.. we are currently working on a new EP release,
but no schedule or anything like that. Hopefully during the autumn.
